How to Get Your Home Ready for a Demolition Crew

Wasatch Demolition ·

Wasatch Demolition construction site cleanup at a new build in Park City, UT

1. Decide what's going and what's staying

Walk the space and point out anything we need to protect, like floors, stairs, built-ins or windows.

2. Clear the room

Move furniture, boxes and valuables out of the work area and away from the path to the door.

3. Leave a path and a spot for the trailer

Debris goes from the room straight to our trailer, so we need a clear path out and a place to park. In a condo, check which hallways, elevators or loading areas we can use.

4. Check your HOA rules

Find out your HOA's rules on work hours, parking and common areas. Jeff can coordinate with them and handle the permits.

5. Know where your shut-offs are

For full teardowns, utilities need to be disconnected before work starts. For kitchens and baths, we cap the plumbing at any fixture we remove. Just let us know where the shut-offs are.

6. Keep your phone handy

On demo day, stay out of the work area but be reachable in case a question comes up.
